The Live Events Production programme aims to support you to develop your practical skills, to gain employment in a variety of production roles in the entertainment and broadcasting sector. With a focus on employability we will challenge you with real work scenarios and you will be prepared to industry standards in techniques and technology experience, which will allow you to define yourself as a production artist. You will be taught in a supportive environment in our Bristol Institute ofPerforming Arts (BIPA), which has some of the best theatre arts facilities in the South West and hosts over 30 productions each year.
Through intensive vocational training in lighting, sound, stage management and scenic art for stage, screen and live events, you will become an experienced interdisciplinary artist working on a range projects and live briefs. In your first year you will be introduced to the fundamental skills and processes equipping you with the tools and knowledge to create memorable and innovative live experiences. Through out the programme you will work directly with directors, producers and choreographers to bring your ideas to life and make a vision a reality. This programme will challenge you to think out side of the the box and imagine new ways of interpreting lighting, sound, scenic art and stage management.
After the successful completion of year one you will start to take direct ownership of your own artistic journey. There will be opportunities to lead on production support for a range professional events, such as community festivals, education and business conferences, music festivals, theatrical productions, touring shows, award celebrations and sporting events. These will all help you gain important industry contacts and give you the opportunity to create personal networks to further your career.
