Student Voice
At SGS we understand that starting university can be a daunting time for many. Our Student Experience Team will be on hand throughout the year to ensure you get the very best out of studying with us. Because of our small class sizes and student-focused culture we are able to offer friendly and supportive study environments. The student voice is at the very centre of SGS higher education life and we will work with you to make sure that you get the best out of your time with us.

Make a difference and become a Student Ambassador
Becoming a Student Ambassador will help you to develop a variety of transferrable skills in communication, presentation and leadership. You will be given regular training and provided with branded clothing. You will be employed to help at various events including giving campus tours to prospective students, attending open days and assisting our HE Student Recruitment Team with other promotional events. Your studies will always take priority and the Student Ambassador Scheme is flexible and works around your timetable.
Academic Student Representatives are elected each year by their peers and act as important spokespeople for your views and interests. As a Student Representative you will attend informal and formal meetings, giving feedback to a range of academic and support staff who are keen to hear your views. Our students’ academic and social experiences are at the heart of everything we do and we want you to be fully involved in both your course and SGS.
Being an Academic Student Representative will give you a fascinating insight into how your course is run and the many processes which go on behind the scenes to maintain the student experience. It also looks great on your CV!
At the end of every module, we ask you to give us direct feedback about what worked well and what could be improved. We address any concerns you might have and engage constructively with your opinions. This is just one of the ways that we ensure that you, the student, remains at the heart of everything we do.
SGS celebrates the success of our completing students in style! Graduation venues have included Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire Cathedral, De Vere Tortworth Court Hotel and the Bristol Concorde Aerospace Museum. If you enrol on a course validated by the University of Gloucestershire you will be invited to attend the University’s annual graduation ceremony.
