Student Accommodation
Bristol is a vibrant and diverse city with so much to offer - nightlife, live music & theatre, arts, sports & beautiful green spaces – which is why there are more than 54,000 students living in Bristol. Depending on the time of year, your budget, and requirements, finding private accommodation in Bristol can be challenging, but we can help you find accommodation that is right for you.
Choosing your home from home is just as important as choosing your study programme.
Although we don't offer our own halls of residence or accommodation service we work with a range of partners and providers across the city.
Congratulations on choosing to study in Bristol - it is a fantastic student city!
Bristol has, on numerous occasions, been voted one of the best student cities in the UK However, as Bristol is such a popular study destination finding accommodation can be competitive. To help you with this, we work with a range of partners (both residential and private landlords) to support you to find suitable accommodation. We recommend that you look to secure your student accommodation as soon as you make the decision to study at SGS.
All of our of halls of residence partners are located in Bristol city centre, so you’ll never be far from the action and excitement of living in our diverse and vibrant city. With regular bus and train routes to all our campuses and designated cycle routes, you’ll find it easy to navigate your way around Bristol.
Another popular option is to 'buddy up' and find private student accommodation. Bristol is fortunate to have a large student community, with private landlords opening their houses for students to rent as individuals or in small groups. Private landlord fees vary depending on location and house type. However, savings can be made by splitting bills/living costs.
Housesharing
If you are looking for a house share, we occasionally have other students who are also searching for housemates to rent a property together or to fill a spare room. House sharing can be a great way to reduce living costs, meet other students, and create a supportive living environment while studying.
Students studying on degree or university-level courses are welcome to apply to join the SGS HE Student Accommodation Facebook Group. This group is specifically for SGS Higher Education (HE) students, which helps ensure that everyone in the group is part of the same student community.
The group can be useful in several ways. For example, you might find posts from students who already have a property and are looking for someone to take a spare room, or from students who want to form a group to search for a house together. If you have already secured a property but still need housemates, the group is also the ideal place to advertise the available room and connect with other SGS HE students who are looking for accommodation.
Joining the group can therefore make it much easier to find compatible housemates, share accommodation opportunities, and stay informed about rooms becoming available within the SGS HE student community. For the link just email us @ undergraduate@sgscol.ac.uk
