Bristol Comicon & Gaming Festival

Recently, both current staff and alumni from our Gaming Department participated in Bristol’s Comicon & Gaming Festival held at Ashton Gate Stadium. This vibrant event served as a comprehensive showcase featuring an impressive array of TV and Film memorabilia, board games, video games, comics, Lego, Harry Potter, Japanese Manga, and much more.

A noteworthy highlight from the festival was an engaging guest talk delivered by a local grassroots' indie games company. This session offered attendees a captivating glimpse into the dynamic and thriving world of independent game development.

The festival drew a diverse audience, ranging from parents exploring educational avenues for their children to college-level students contemplating their university choices, and even adults seeking new opportunities. It served as a unique platform for our institution to connect with a broad spectrum of individuals interested in the intersection of creativity and technology.

Anticipation is building for the upcoming Bristol Comicon and Gaming Festival scheduled for March. This eagerly awaited event not only affords our students an invaluable opportunity to showcase their creative endeavours but to also discuss their experiences studying at SGS, with the public at a well-known creative event.
