SGS Football Academy Goalkeepers Train at St George’s Park in Unforgettable Experience
On Tuesday, a group of talented goalkeepers from SGS Football Academy had the extraordinary opportunity to visit St George’s Park, the official home of England’s national football teams. The visit offered the aspiring goalkeepers a chance to support candidates working towards their UEFA A coaching qualification while receiving elite-level training from some of the top coaches in the country.
The young players participated in various training sessions led by coaches from the Premier League, Championship, League 1, League 2, and the Women’s Super League. In addition, they had the unique privilege of being coached by members of the England national team’s coaching staff.
Sam Naylor, Goalkeeping Coach at SGS College, praised the experience: “This was a great day for the goalkeepers at the college, an experience that they will remember for a long time. The opportunity to go to St George’s Park is something that does not come every day, let alone be coached by England Coaches as well as coaches at the top level. The goalkeepers were put to the test in a variety of different sessions, learning new skills and developing skills they already have.”
The experience not only challenged the young keepers but also provided an invaluable learning platform, allowing them to hone their skills under the guidance of elite coaches. The day highlighted SGS Football Academy’s commitment to providing top-tier opportunities for its players, and Naylor expressed excitement for future opportunities, saying, "We look forward to the next trip soon!"
The visit to St George's Park was a memorable occasion for everyone involved, and it is sure to leave a lasting impact on the goalkeepers as they continue to develop their talents.
