I have over 15 years of experience in education, spanning Early Years, Further Education, and Higher Education. My career began as an Early Years Educator working in both schools and nurseries, and I have also worked internationally as a play leader. Over time, my growing interest in child psychology and neurodiversity led me to complete a Master’s degree in Psychology, where my research explored women’s mental health during adolescence. Alongside my studies, I gained extensive experience supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and providing specialist support in Further Education. This background informs my current teaching, where I lecture on the Education and Learning Degree and the T Level in Education and Early Years, focusing on developmental psychology, behaviour, and SEND. My areas of expertise include child psychology, partnership working, and supporting the development of maths and literacy skills in children and young people. I am particularly passionate about behaviour and trauma-informed approaches to education, which underpin my teaching and practice. For the past three years, I have been selected to plan T Level resources for the Association of Colleges to be used nationally by fellow T Level lecturers, creating materials on topics such as the OAP cycle, key learning theories, and supporting families. I am committed to empowering future educators with the knowledge and confidence to create inclusive, supportive learning environments for all children.
