Anya Beaumont

Lecturer in Art & Design
Location:
Queens Road (Bristol School of Art)
Anya Beaumont is a visual artist based in Wiltshire, who works with a range of materials and processes. Much of the material she uses is repurposed waste, selected for its physical properties. In recent years concerns of contemporary life, both political and environmental, have increasingly influenced her work. “Future Fossils’ and ‘Hopeful Monsters’ are current ongoing series. Bizarre, comical, even disturbing, the artist is confronting consumerism with humour and pathos whilst contemplating a future where material values are upended and what is currently waste is recognized as a valuable resource. Beaumont received Distinction for her MA in Fine Art Theory and Practice from Middlesex University in 2004 and has since been engaged in a number of projects including residencies and public and private commissions. She successfully received funding from Arts Council for England for 2 of her projects. She also has work in public and private collections in the UK, Europe and USA including Virgin Hotels and Saga Cruises. She had a solo exhibition at Pound Arts, Corsham in May 2024. Alongside this she teaches Contemporary Art Practice at Bristol School of Art. IG @AnyaBeaumontArtist Bluesky @anyabeaumontart@bsky.social Facebook @AnyaBeaumont2 Web www.anyabeaumont.com
