Dr Jo Kear

In my 22 years of working at SGS I have worn lots of different job hats! I have been a Lecturer in Art History, Programme Lead, Head of Department (Bristol School of Art, Queens Road) and am now Director of Higher Education with responsibility for overseeing the quality, standards and development of our L4 + curriculum. Each of these roles have focused on providing our students with the best possible learning experience and I am delighted to continue to work with such inspiring students and colleagues. I still teach Art History at degree level and have a wide range of research interests including the representation of women in late Victorian painting, the use of art historical artefacts/ narratives in computer games, queer representation in computer games and the future(s) of art history as a discipline.
